Futurama The Beast With A Billion Backs Cover

Great news for all Futurama fans, the second of four full length DVDs hits Irish shops on June 30th. Anyone who actually gave Futurama a bit of time will know it as the more risque and often funnier younger sibling of the Simpsons. For those of you who haven’t given it the time, I thouroughly recommend it. Here’s the trailer for the new DVD, The Beast With A Billion Backs.

Underworld - The Bells! The Bells!

For anyone wondering about the name “Inky Inky Finger”, it comes from the Underworld track Parc (originally known as Darc), which is released tomorrow in Japan on the CD/DVD release “The Bells! The Bells!”.

You can buy it directly from HMV.co.jp and Amazon.co.jp or wait and it should be available from the online shop at Underworldlive.com.

Daft Punk Encore Costumes

[picture: Instructables.com]

[Update - 18 October 2008]

This page seems to be getting a lot of hits so I did a bit more searching myself to see what info I could find about Daft Punk costumes. First up, here’s a link to the company that did the encore suits pictured above:

http://enlighted.com/

Daft Punk page on Enlighted.com:

http://enlighted.com/pages/daftpunk2007.shtml

It seems that no one is actually making and selling Daft Punk costumes at the moment, so your only option is to make your own. Here’s a link to a Cosplay message board where people discuss how to build their own:

http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=80112

Finally, here are some pictures of people wearing costumes they made themselves:

[End Of Update]

There’s a great post over on Instructables.com by the woman who added the Tron-like light strips to Daft Punk’s encore costumes from their Alive 2007 tour. If you get started now you might be able to have your own Daft Punk costume ready in time for Halloween!

Etienne De Crecy live videos

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

I was talking to Etienne De Crecy last year about our respective live setups (he’s a hardware man too), so when a friend mentioned some video of a show of his last year I had to have a look. There’s a longer video up on Etienne’s Myspace page.

Jape – Floating (Philth And Seki Remix)

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Jape at Vicar Street

I was lucky enough to spend a bit of time with Richie from Jape last week as we were playing together for our friends at Synth Eastwood. Richie played a gig of his own the next night to celebrate the launch of his new album Ritual, which you should all go and buy now.

A while ago myself and Seki got the chance to remix the monster of a track that is Floating (you can download the original version for free from Jape’s Myspace page now). Our remix never quite managed to make it out to the public so I’m sticking it up here for a while. It’s unmastered unfortunately but doesn’t sound too bad. We’ll get around to fixing it sometime I’m sure. :)

There’s another Philth And Seki remix due soon which I’ll post here too, and we’re working away on new material for our next live show. Pencil in August 1st.
