It’s a fine line between funny and sad sometimes, or between talent and pastiche. Make up your own mind.

I came across a link to the Backlash website earlier and I got nostalgic for a minute. I do love that last poster.

Giving 5% Of Your O2 Bill To Irish Autism Action Costs You One Text

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008
You can give 5% of your O2 phone bill to Irish Autism Action.

You can give 5% of your O2 phone bill to Irish Autism Action.

When I read about this I thought it was just another scam, but apparently if you are an O2 customer in Ireland and text “Autism” to 50308, O2 will give 5% of your monthly bill (less data and roaming charges) to Irish Autism Action in your county. I really can’t see the downside. I do wonder what other charities have similar deals in place that I don’t know about, but for today I’m more than happy to donate this money to IAA.

It costs you one text to 50308, and to be honest I’m not sure how much this text costs, but it’s a small price to pay to get O2 to pony up 5% of your bill and donate it to charity. There are the usual corporate terms and conditions but I don’t see anything to worry about.

So if you’re with O2 Ireland, and you’re not already using an Affinity scheme to donate to another charity, text “Autism” to 50308 and let O2 donate 5% of your bill to Irish Autism Action in your area.

More Tina Fey As Sarah Palin

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Tina Fey must be thanking her lucky stars that Sarah Palin was picked as the Republican candidate for Vice President in the US… These skits are great. I just hope that the Americans don’t get confused and vote for Palin because of how much they like Tina!

Ever Wondered How Many Flights There Are In A Day?

Monday, October 6th, 2008

I came across this on a map blog called The Map Room I while I was doing some research for my work at RevaHealth.com. It’s either thought provoking or pretty, depending on your point of view. (For some people it might be both!)
