New Corvette Stingray Concept

The Corvette Stingray was the first car I ever saw a picture of and understood that someone had actually designed it with passion. [In fact it was more than one person: Larry Shinoda and Bill Mitchell, inspired by Peter Brock and Chuck Pohlmann. See Wikipedia's Corvette page for more.] The Stingray has been updated for this concept which apparently is going to be one of the Transformers in the upcoming sequel. Taking an old design and trying to modernise it often doesn’t work, but I think this thing has a presence rare in modern car, and some of that comes from the raw, visceral shape of the original.     In a letter to Tom Wallace (dated Feb. 3, 2006) I urged Mr. Wallace to name the C7 Corvette “Sting Ray” before they mistakenly designated it for the Saturn sports car.I conveyed to him (and GM) that the name Sting Ray should be brought back…and “only” designated to a Corvette.I also suggested that they use an actual Sting Ray emblem on the new vehicle which represents the very beginning (1959) of the Sting Ray heritage.Lo and behold…they listened!

    first time in my life blogging but can’t help myself. Ok, i’m in love with muscle cars but i typically do not like corvettes, however i have always said the only corvette i like was before my time but the looks was just PERFECT and that’s the STING RAY and lo and behold!!! look what showed up in my time!!! WOW!!! Gonna turn my Jaguar XKR in for this one, the new sting ray is sooooo sexy!! and guys, it’s not just for u, sexy woman should drive sexy cars. I AM SO INLOVE
