So I’m going to see this lot play live.
The Dashboard boys are back in 4 Dame Lane this Thursday March 26th with a country themed gig this time, featuring The Blood Red Mountain Band, The Hot Sprockets and The Sly Brothers, along with DJs Dino, Mark Lam and Conor Murphy. More info from the Dashboard 3 Facebook event page or from dashboard.4dl@gmail.com.
My heart sank when I heard that Road Records would be closing, but for once in these days of doom and gloom there’s a chance of a happy ending. I don’t know all the details, but there is talk (see On The Record) that some investors might be lining up to keep Road going. It looks like the remarkable outpouring of support from current and lapsed customers alike was enough to at least get the ball moving on some kind of a rescue plan.
In the meantime, we all have a chance to put our money where our mouths are and show a bit of support by buying tickets and telling our friends to buy tickets for the “benefit and celebration” called One For The Road in Andrews Lane on Saturday March 14th. Playing on the night will be Jape, The Jimmy Cake, Si Schroeder, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Adrian Crowley, The Dudley Corporation vs The Large Mound (The Large Corporation) and the Road Records DJs. It’s a great line-up for a great cause.
