Alias Empire AEmix EP

Alias Empire released their AEMIX EP on Friday and one of the tunes on it is a remix by myelf and Seki of their track Another Idea. You can download the whole EP for free from the new Alias Empire website now, although you need to sign up for an account before you can get the download I think. The New Wine vs Erlend Øye

Friday, February 13th, 2009

A nice little find thanks to the people at Waves At Night. The New Wine performing the Fred Falke remix of A Golden Cage by The Whitest Boy Alive, and Erlend Øye just happens to be on hand to do the vocal. :)

Alias Empire

Alias Empire

I got asked a couple of weeks ago to remix a track by Alias Empire (the band formerly known as Dry County) so I took a listen to the album and there were a few I really wanted to have a go at. I’ve whittled it down to just two and will be doing the remixes over the next two weekends. Check back here for a preview in a couple of weeks (if it all goes to plan!). In the meantime, go to their Myspace page and have a listen / add them.

Little Boots + Tenori-On

Monday, July 28th, 2008

This is shamelessly robbed from Nialler9 but there’s probably at least one person out there who doesn’t read his blog, so here it is again.

Expect to see a Tenori-On in The New Project’s shows later this year. :)

Keedz – Stand On The Word

Monday, July 21st, 2008

This actually took a lot longer to happen that I thought it would. Ever since Celestial Choir’s “Stand On The Word” appeared on the Pet Shop Boys’ excellent Back To Mine compilation it’s been ripe for the chart-baiting cover version. Step up Keedz on Universal Music France with this offering:

A lot of people are convinced this is just Justice under a different name. The truth will come out soon enough, but whether it is them or not it’s a pretty lazy re-work that seems to have lost all the soul of the earlier version.

Jape – Floating (Philth And Seki Remix)

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Jape at Vicar Street

I was lucky enough to spend a bit of time with Richie from Jape last week as we were playing together for our friends at Synth Eastwood. Richie played a gig of his own the next night to celebrate the launch of his new album Ritual, which you should all go and buy now.

A while ago myself and Seki got the chance to remix the monster of a track that is Floating (you can download the original version for free from Jape’s Myspace page now). Our remix never quite managed to make it out to the public so I’m sticking it up here for a while. It’s unmastered unfortunately but doesn’t sound too bad. We’ll get around to fixing it sometime I’m sure. :)

There’s another Philth And Seki remix due soon which I’ll post here too, and we’re working away on new material for our next live show. Pencil in August 1st.
